How's your Heart?

“Choosing a Healthy Lifestyle Lowers Your Risk of Heart Disease Physically — But How’s Your Heart Spiritually?”
Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in America — and we all know choosing a healthy lifestyle dramatically lowers that physical risk. Better nutrition. Consistent training. Sleep. Stress management. Stewarding the body God gave you.

But there’s another question we cannot ignore:

How’s your HEART spiritually?

You can eat clean, crush workouts, and hit every fitness goal…
yet still carry a spiritual heart that’s tired, bitter, anxious, or divided.

God doesn’t just look at physical strength. He looks deeper.

“But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look at his appearance… For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’” — 1 Samuel 16:7

In the gym, we train the body.
In faith, God trains the heart.

And the spiritual heart needs its own discipline:

✅ Forgiveness (even when it’s hard)
✅ Humility (when pride wants to rule)
✅ Gratitude (when negativity creeps in)
✅ Prayer (when life feels heavy)
✅ Obedience (when flesh wants comfort)

Just like plaque builds up in our arteries, sin, stress, resentment, and distraction can clog the spiritual heart.

But here’s the hope — God doesn’t just check your heart…
He restores it.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” — Psalm 51:10

And He gives us everything we need to guard it:

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23

Faith + Fitness isn’t about six-packs and Bible verses.
It’s about becoming whole, inside and out.

Train your body.
Surrender your heart.
This is how we honor God with our temple — physically and spiritually.

Because being fit in the world but weak in the Spirit isn’t victory.
True strength starts within.

Let’s get healthy — in every way that matters.
Let’s protect our hearts, strengthen our faith, and live in the discipline God calls us to.

Get Fit. Stay Fit. God’s Way.
